English
In English, we have been reading a novel called The Riddle of the Trumpalar. It follows twins as they try to save a Moreton Bay fig tree, which is actually a magical portal. We were also interested in the real (not magical!) reasons to save trees, and researched and wrote persuasive texts about why we need green spaces in cities. We also created protest signs to stop trees from being cut down.
Maths
In Maths, we have been looking at place value, particularly the difference between place value in whole numbers and decimal numbers. We have been conducting investigations in groups to see how numbers work together, and playing with place value can make drastic differences to our numbers.
Art
In art, we have been looking at colour and pattern in famous paintings and the effects they create. We have made our own artworks incorporating different patterns, designs and colours to brighten our room. It’s amazing how different our interpretations of the same idea can be!
